• Upcoming 6th BRICS Summit 2014 is scheduled to be held in July 2014 which will be hosted by Brazil.
• This year 2014 marks the 60th Anniversary for the Panchsheel Agreement which was signed in the year 1954. The Vice president of India has been invited to visit China for the ceremony.
• China has invited India to take part in the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB).

• Caldicellulosiruptor bescii - a bacterium which can be used to convert biomass to biofuel directly.
• Vishing = Voice + Phishing - In this type of phishing the hacker use voice calls which would resemble like a genuine one but uses it to steal your information.
• Brahmos - a supersonic cruise missile was test fired successfully from a indigenous warship INS Kolkata. 
• Mars Orbitor Mission's trajectory was successfully corrected from the ground station.
• Indian army successfully test fired Aakash - a surface to air missile, which destroyed a target at 30m altitude. 
• ARM - Asteroid Redirect mission : NASA's Mission to capture the asteroid with the help of robotic spacecrafts. The appropriate right sized asteroids will be selected with the help of NASA's Spitzer Space Telescope. Accordingly a 6 m diametre asteroid named '2011 MD' was chosen. 
• PSLV-C23 to be launched from Sriharikota on 30th June 2014.
• Additive Micro Manufacturing process - the process which is used to develop an artificial ultra light materials which can withstand 1,60,000 its own weight.
• i-Shakthi - a new app which send emergency messages with location to family and friends list when we rapidly shake our mobile phone.
• Panic Button - a new app launched by Amnesty International to help the activist who are in emergency like situations.
• Mobile Seva is an initiative developed and implemented by Deity (Department of Electronics and Information Technology which enables the delivery of public services directly to their mobile phones. This initiative was given the second place in the UN Public service awards 2014.

Environment

• Sanjaya Rajaram has been selected for the 'World's Food Prize' for his research in world's wheat production.
• The Greater Himalayan national park of Himachal Pradesh has made its entry in the UNESCO's List of World heritage sites.
