Imported planes from 2019 should have GAGAN

 All the Imported planes from 2019 should equipped with indigenously developed navigation system GAGAN ( GPS-Aided Geo Augmented Navigation).

About GAGAN.

• GAGAN is a satellite based Navigation system to improve the accuracy and reliability of the navigation system which is  jointly developed by Airports Authority of India and Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
• It is launched on July 2015 and joined with other navigation systems of world like GPS of US, Glonass of Russia, Galileo of Europoe.
• It will help to increase the GPS signals over India, South East Asia, Middle East, Arabian Sea and up to Africa.
• In Simple, it helps to improve efficiency of Navigation system, reduce work load, improve safety and more important in rescue operations.
