1.Environment
Ministry : There are 18 Biosphere Reserves in India
Environment Ministry said that there are 18
Biosphere Reserve in India. Biosphere reserve is an International designation
by UNESCO to deal with conserving natural and cultural landscapes, ecosystem
and various species.
In India, Biosphere reserve programme was first
implemented on 1986.
2.Government has launched 8% pension scheme“Pradhan
Mantri Vaya Vandana Yojana”.
Government
has launched 8% pension scheme “Pradhan Mantru Vaya Vandana Yojana “to the
elderly person aged 60 and above. It was operated by Life Insurance of India.
3.Kerala and Haryana tops sanitation survey – QCI.
Kerala and Haryana has topped the sanitation survey
released by Ministry of Drinking Water
and sanitation undertaken by Quality Council of India (QCI). The survey was
taken in 1.4 lakh rural household. Uttar Pradesh and Bihar are the worst
performing states that listed in bottom.
4.Tamil Nadu Chief Minister has opened 5 food
Grain Warehouse.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K.
Palaniswami has opened five food grain warehouses in Tamil Nadu, 3 warehouses
is in Nallampalli village in Dharmapuri district and 2 warehouse is in Nanjikottai,
Thanjavur District s to store 1.25 lakh tonnes of foodgrains.
5.Justice Dipak Mishra is next Chief Justice of
India.
Justice Dipak Misra has been appointed as 45th
Chief justice of India. He will replace Justice J S Khehar, who is set to
retire on August 27 2017.
6.Two Major Afforestation Schemes to implement by Environment Ministry.
Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change is implementing two major afforestation scheme, National Afforestation programme (NAP) scheme and National Mission for a Green India (GIM) to achieve the target of National Forest policy to maintain 33% forest and tree cover in India.
7.Kipyegon clinches 1500m IAAF World Athletics
championship 2017.
Faith Kipyegon of Kenja has won the Gold in Womens’s
1500m running in IAAF worl Athletics Championship 2017 held in London, UK.
