1.National Family Health Survey - 2015-16

Sh Faggan Singh Kulaste, Minister of State health and family welfare has said in Lokh Sabha as per the National Family Health survey – 2015-16, 35.7 % of children under 5 years are underweight, 38.4 % of children are stunted and 21 % of children are wasted in India.

He said that Government has taken several steps to combat the challenges of malnutrition in India. Some of the schemes like MAA (Mothers Absolute Affection) to promote breast feeding, PradhanMantriSurakshitMatritvaAbhiyan which aim to reduce maternal and infant mortality by giving free check-up to pregnant women at government health centre.

  

2.India expressed interest to run Srilanka’s airport.

India has showing interest to operate Srilanka’s 2^nd International airport situated in Mattala. It is very close to the port Hambantota, where China has major stake.

3.13^th Vice President Venkaiah Naidu.

Venkaiah Naidu became the 13^th Vice President of India.

4.Prasoon Joshi new Chairperson of Central Board of Film Certification.

 Prasoon Joshi appointed as New Chairperson of Central Board of Film Certification for three years.
