Article 35A of Indian Constitution empowers the state legislature of Jammu and Kashmir to define permanent residents of the state and provide special rights and privileges to them. It came into being through presidential order in 1954 by then president Dr. Rajendra Prasad.
2. ‘Gaj Yatra’ to mark World Elephant Day 2017-August

Government has launched “Gaj Yatra” to mark World Elephant Day 2017, which is a
nationwide campaign to protect Elephants. The Campaign is planned to cover 12
states.
World
Elephant Day is celebrated on August 12 every year, with the aim to create
awareness about the trouble of elephants and to share knowledge and solution
for better treatment and management of captive and wild Elephants.

As per recent broadband testing by Ookla, said
that Norway has world’s fasted internet.
4.Nehru cup boat race 2017.
The
Gabriyel Chundan snake boat is the winner of 65th edition of the Nehru Trophy
boat race held in punnamada lake,
Kerala.
