1.Indian Statistical Institute found oldest fossil
remains of horned reptiles.
Researches from Indian Statistical Institute,
Kolkata has found oldest fossil remain of horned reptiles about 245 m years
old. It was found near the Satpura Gondwana basin in Madhya Pradesh. It was
named as Shringasaurus indicus.
2.CSIR-NIIST produced ethanol
from discarded cotton-stalks.
Researches from CSIR-NIIST( CSIR-National
Institute for Interdisciplinary Science and Technology), Trivandrum, has found a new method to produce ethanol from
discarded cotton-stalks. It will lead to proper waste management.
About 2 million tonnes of cotton stalk wastes generates
from every hectare and India is producing 9.4 Million hectares under cotton
cultivation. The new method will help to turn the waste into wealth.
3.Imported planes from 2019 should have GAGAN
All the Imported planes from 2019 should equipped with indigenously developed navigation system GAGAN ( GPS-Aided Geo Augmented Navigation).
4.Male humpback Whales can make Musical Sounds.
Recently researchers have found that Male Humpback
Whales can make musical sounds to form songs.

National Squash Championship.

7.Center to replicate PMUY Scheme success to all other
rural welfare scheme.
Central Government has planned to replicate success
of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) scheme to provide free LPG Connection
to the poorest household to other rural welfare scheme implemented under Rural
Development Ministry.
8.New chief justice of India - Dipak Misra
Dipak Misra sworn in as 45th Chief Justice of
India, he will takes over from JS Khehar. He was administered the oath of
office by Indian President Ram Nath Kovind.
