1.Union
Home Minister inaugurates YUVA - a skill development programme.
Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated
the YUVA –a skill development programme in New Delhi under Pradhan Mantri
Kaushal Vikas Yojana(PMKVY) which is an initiative of Delhi Police.
YUVA aims to connect with Youth by upgrading
their skills as per their abilities, which will help them to get employment
under PMKVY.
2.IAEA
opens Uranium bank in Kazakhstan.
International
Atomic Energy Agency has opened low Enriched Uranium (LEU) Bank in Okemen, Kazakhstan,
to discourage new nations form enriching the nuclear fuel.
The bank can store upto 90 tonnes of the fuel
and sell it to member countries when there is shortage.
3.Gobindobhog
rice from West Bengal gets geographical indication status.
Gobindobhog
rice from Burdwan district of West Bengal, has got the geographical indication
(GI) status.
4.1000
years old Jain site in Villupuram declared protected Monument.
1000
years old Jain Rock carvings in Villupuram district of Tamil Nadu has been
declared as protected monument by Tamil Nadu State Government. It has image
of Bahubali, that proves Jainism thrived
in that region.
5.Mariyappan
recived arjuna award.
Tamil
Nadu’s Para Olympic Gold medallist Thangavelu Mariyappan received Arjuna award
from Indian President Ram Nath Koving.
Arjuna
awards given to sports person for consistency outstanding performance for four
years
