1.Niti Ayog new vice chairman- Rajiv Kumar.

Rajiv Kumar has appointed as new Vice Chairman of Niti Ayog following Arvind Panagariya quits.

2.Two new species of Cycas namely Cycus pschannae and Cycas dharmrajii Discovered

Researchers discovered two new species of Cycus namely cycus pschannae and Cycus Daharmrajii. Cycus is the genus of plant which is one of the most ancient plants belongs to Jurassic and Cretaceous periods and also referred as living fossils.

Cycus is in the Cycadaceae family in the major group Gymnosperms. Now the number of cycus species found in India becomes 14 including both new species.

  

3.India’s 13th Vice President-Venkaiah Naidu.

Venkaiah Naidu is elected as 13^th Vice President of India defeating Gopalkrishna Gandhi by 272 votes.

4.Noted Writer HG Rasool Passes Away.

Noted Tamil Writer HG Rasool Passes away. He was well known for his poetry “Yaen Illai Vaapa Oru Pen Nabi? “ , which landed him in trouble.
