India Sends its first ship of wheat to Afghanistan via Chabahar port located in Iran.  The chabahar port now the primary gateway for India to reach Afghanistan and Central Asia. The Chabahar port has been developed in Iran with the help of India.

               

Significance of Chabahar Port:

• This port is located in southern east of Iran in Gulf of Oman.
• It was developed with the help of India .
• This port will help India to bypass Pakistan in transporting Goods to Afghanistan and Central Asia.
• Pakistan has denied permission to transport Goods to Afghan through their territory.
• This route will help India to increase trade connectivity to major countries like Russia, Iran, Afghan and Central Asian Countries.
