The 2017 Nobel Peace prize has been awarded to International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN) for its work towards drawing attention on disastrous consequence of any use of nuclear weapons and efforts to achieve treaty based prohibition of nuclear weapons.

About ICAN: 

• International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons(ICAN) is a coalition of NGOs from around 100 countries working together to promoting their country to adhere to and implementation of United Nations nuclear weapon ban treaty
• It was launched in 2007, it headquarters is in Geneva , Switzerland .
• There is more than 450 partner organisation in 101 countries. 

About Nobel Prize:

Nobel Prize is an Annual international award honouring men and women for outstanding achievements in physics, chemistry, physiology or medicine, literature, and for work in peace.

It was awarded since 1901. Award was given annually as per the Alfred Nobel last will.
