1.Cabinet approves 34,800 km new road
project under Bharatmala Pariyojana.
Union Cabinet has given its approval
to build 34,800 highways at Rs 5.35 lakh crore under the project Bhratmala
Pariyojana. Also Government has planned to build 83,677 km of roads and
highways in the next five years with the total of expenditure of Rs 6.92 lakh
crore .
The aim of the project is to push
the economy and generate job opportunity by efficient movement of goods and
people across the nation.
2.India, Indonesia 30th bi-lateral
exercise CORPAT
India’s Naval Ship Sukanya has
reached Indonesia to participate the 30th edition of CORPAT
(Coordinated patrol) and 3rd bilateral exercise between both Indian
Navy and Indonesian Navy.
The exercise aimed to boost maritime
ties with the country’s borders the Indian ocean.
3.Government
Constitutes Commission to examine the Sub-Categorization within OBCs.
Government
has constitutes the four-member Commission headed by Justice G. Rohini, to
examine the sub-categorization within Other Backward classes (OBCs). The
commission was set up under the article 340.
4.New initiative
SAATHI to help small industries.
SAATHI
(Sustainable and Accelerated Adoption of efficient Textile technologies to Help
small Industries) is a new initiative by Ministries of Power and Textiles.
The main
objective of scheme is to procure energy efficient powerlooms, motors and
rapier kit in bulk and provide at no upfront cost to the small and medium units.

United Nation marks 72nd
anniversary of the entry into force in 1945 of the UN charter.
6.Landing Operations on Agra-Lucknow
Expressway by IAF
Landing operation on Agra-Lucknow
expressway has been carried out by Indian Airforce, the 3km stretch in
expressway has been specially prepared for such operations in Unnao district,
Uttar Pradesh.
7.olive work
shop on “Olive Research and Development in India”
The two day olive
workshop on “Olive Research and Development in India” has been inaugurated in Srinagar.
