India’s first Blackbuck conservation reserve to coming up over 126 hectares in the trans-Yamuna region of Allahabad in Uttar Pradesh.

There are few national park and sanctuaries like Velavadar Wildlife Sanctuary in Gujarat and Ranibennur Blackbuck Sanctuary in Karnataka is inhabited by Blackbuck but there is no sanctuary dedicated exclusively to Blackbuck.

This could be the first in India which is exclusively dedicated to Blackbuck.

Uttar Pradesh government has declared the conservation reserve by evoking section 36 A (1) and (2) of the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972 in the Meja forest division.

The Meja Forest division is known for its rocky, undulating and arid terrain.
