1.President Promulgates
Ordinance to Encourage Bamboo Cultivation in Non-Forest Areas.
President promulgates an ordinance
amending the Indian Forest Act 1927 to encourage Bamboo cultivation in
Non-Forest Areas. An ordinance which
exempts bamboo grown in non-forest areas from the definition of a tree,
therefore provides requirement of felling and transit permit.
Bamboo taxonomically grass, but
legally defined as Tree in Indian forest Act 1927, because of this Farmers
could not cultivate Bamboo in Non-forest Areas. Now the ordinance which
encourage the farmers to cultivate Bamboo in Non forest areas and which enhance
their income.
2.NDMA and INCOIS to conduct Multi
State Mega Mock Tsunami Exercise 2017
National
Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and the Indian National Centre for Ocean
Information Services (INCOIS) will conduct a multi-State mega mock Tsunami Exercise
in 31 couastal districts of West Bangal, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and
Puducherry.
3.-India recommended
United Nation to declare 2018 as International Year of Millets
Indian
Government has recommended United Nation to Declare the 2018 as International
Year of Millets.
4.Indian Navy inducts
first female pilot- Shubhangi Swaroop
Indian Navy has inducted first ever
Female Piot Shubhangi Swaroop.
