1.Namami Barak
festival held at Assam.
The Three day Namami Barak Festival
held at Silchar, Karimganj and Hailakandi of Assam
to pay tribute to River Barak for its potential and possibilities to
emerge as trade hub.
Barak River is a part of Surma-Meghna
River System , it rises in Manipur hills near Mao Sonsang. It is the major
river in South Assam. The tributaries are Jirl,
Dhaleshwari, Singla, Longai, Sonai ,Katakhal.
2.India Signs $100m
Agreement with WB for Shared Infrastructure for Solar Parks Project
India has
signed $98 Million loan guarantee agreement for International Bank for
Reconstruction and Development (IBRD)/Clean Technology Fund (CTF) and $2
Million Grant Agreement for Shared Infrastructure for Solar Parks Project with
the World bank.
The Aim of the project is to
increase the solar generation capacity and support to install India’s plan to
install 100 Gigawatts of solar power out of achieving India’s plan to install
175 GW solar power by 2022.
3.India’s
Largest Electronic Interlocking system Commissioned at Kharagpur Station.
India’s largest Electronic
Interlocking(EI) system of 800 routes has been commissioned at Khragpur station
,West Bengal which will replace the old interlocking system of 423 routes.
The new Electronic interlocking
system will help in smooth movement of Train South Eastern Railway.
What is Electronic Interlocking?
Electronic Interlocking is an
advanced signallying system which plays a smooth movements of trains.
4. 51 lakhs
houses set to complete by March
2018 under PMAY(G).
51 Lakhs houses to be completed by
31st marhc 2018 under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin). Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin) aim to
construct 1 crore house to rural poor launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi
in 2016.
5.Inter Child
Care Institution Festival “Hausala 2017” concludes.
Inter Child
Care Institution festival Hausala 2017 concluded, it was organised by Ministry
of Women and Child Development. Hausala festival has been celebrated between
the weeks of Children’s day on 14 November and the International Child rights
day on 20th November.
Inter Child Care
Institution Festival has celebrated for the children who reside in child care
institution, which will provide platform to showcase their talents. Various events
has been conducted like various events like Bal Sansad, painting competition, various sports and more.
6.Scientist
found new Root Parasitic plant Gleadovia konyakianorum
Scientist
has found new Root Parasitic plant Gleadovia Konyakianorum that has no
chlorophyll and survives in another plant for food. It was found in Mon
district in Nagaland.
Gleadovia
Konyokianorum is a root parasite which absorbs entire nutritional requirement from the host plant with a
help of Haustorium. Haustorium is a specialised structure (like hair, root ,
stem) that penetrates the tissues of a host plant and absorbs required
nutrients .
This is only the 4th species
found under the genus Gleadovia, other three species discovered are Gleadovia
banerjiana in Manipur, Gleadovia mupinense in China and Gleadovia ruborum in
Uttarakhand and China.
There are 2 types of parasite plant,
one is plant parasite and another is Root Parasite.
Example:
Most common Plant parasite found in India called Loranthus
found in Mango tree . Root parasite Sapria himalayana which found in Eastern
Himalayas.
7.The
International Film Festival of India (IFFI) to be inaugurated in Goa
The 48th
International Film Festival of India (IFFI) inaugurated at Panaji, Goa. Festival will presenting 195 films from over 82 countries.
