1.Tamil Nadu is
in final phase of setting
rules for tapping 'Neera' .
Tamil Nadu
Government may unveil the
rules and regulation for tapping “Neera” by end of November 2017. Neera is a non-alcoholic nutrient rich drink
from the coconut tree. Tapping Neera
will increase the income of Coconut farmers also increase the Tamil Nadu’s
revenue by 47,500 crore.
2.PM Visited IRRI
Prime
Minister Narendra Modi Visited International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) in
Los Banos, Philippines and
contributed 2 Indian Seed variety to research centre.
He also inaugurated a rice Field
laboratory named after him at the Research Centre. IRRI has offices in 17
countries which is working towards developing rice varieties. In India , IRRI’s
regional centre is setting up at Varanasi , Uttar Pradesh by Indian Government.
3.India's
first ever 'Air Dispensary'
Jitendra Singh Union Minister of
State (Independent Charge) for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) said
that Northeast region is going to get the India’s first ever Air Dispensary in
a helicopter
4.Audrey Azoulay
new UNESCO Chief.
Audrey
Azoulay was appointed as the 11th
director general of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural
Organization (UNESCO). She is a former French cultural Minister . she will replace Director General Irina
Bokova.
