1.Union Government launched new Rural financial inclusion project – DARPAN. 

Union Government has launched the new rural financial inclusion project called DARPAN (Digital Advancement of Rural Post Office for A New India) with the aim to improve the financial inclusion of unbanked rural population.

The DARPAN IT (Information Technology) modernization project helps to improve the services given by Post offices to rural people across the country.

2.Indian Coast Guard Ship “Sujay” commissioned. 

Indian Coast Guard Ship “Sujay” has been commissioned at Goa. It is the 6^th in the series of six 105 Offshore Patrol Vessel”.

Sujay means Great Victory, the ship will based at Paradip, Odisha, 

3.Sastra ramanujan award to Maryna Viazovska. 

2017 SASTRA Ramanujan Award  given to Maryna Viazovska of Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Lausanne, Switzerland for her contribution to number theory.

4.Poet Inquilab gets Sahitya Akademi award 2017 

Poet Inquilab has been posthumously selected for Sahitya Akademi Award 2017.  

5.Yu, Ma vasuki winner of Sahitya Skademi award for translator. 

Yu, Ma Vasuki has been selected as the winner of Sahitya Akademi for translator , he has translated more than 150 books from Malayalam and award given for translating O.V. Vijayan’s Khasakkinte Itihasam as Kashakkin Ithikasam in Tamil.
