1.Scientist found that Indus Civilization developed without a flowing river.

Scientist from India and England found that Indus Civilization has flourished without a flowing river but flourished along a course of abandoned Sutlej River.  Earlier it was believed that Indus civilization has flourished around a flowing river called the Ghaggar-Hakra.

About the Findings: 

• The Indus or Harappan Civilisation developed around 5000- 3300 years ago , at the same time the Mesopotamia and Egypt Civilisation developed.
• Archaeological evidence shows that most of the Harappan civilization developed along the river bank of Ghaggar-Hakra river.
• But the latest study shows that Harappan Civilisation developed without flowing river but flourished under along the course of abandoned Sutlej river.
• A Sutlej river used to flow 8 thousand years ago along the trace of the Ghaggar-Hakar river but rapidly change its course upstream.
• From this we can understand that three thousand years later, Harappan people settled along the area has abandoned river valley occupied by seasonal monsoon river instead of large river.             
• This finding will help the archaeologist to take a fresh look on the development of Harappa or Indus valley civilization. 

2.Singapore offers India logistical base in strait of Malacca . 

Singapore has agreed to offer Indian Navy a logistical base in Strait of Malacca which is located in Indian Ocean.

3.Hockey World Cup logo unveiled. 

 Chief Minister of Odisha Naveen Patnaik has unveiled the logo and mascot for the Hockey Men's World Cup 2018 held in India.
