1.ISRO to launch 31 Satellites tomorrow.
Indian Space Research Organisation
is to launch 31 satellites tomorrow using its launch vehicle PSLV –C40(Polar
Satellite Launch Vehicle ) from Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh.
It will carry 3 satellites of India
and 28 satellites from other countries. Indian Satellites contains 710 kg of
Cartostat-2 series for Earth observation ,11kg Nano-satellite and 100 kg
Microsatellite.
2.Sivan K is next ISRO Chariman.
Dr.Sivan k has been appointed as the
next ISRO Chairman , he will replace A S Kiran Kumar. Sivan K is now a director
of Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre.
3.Cabinet
approves MoU with Canada for cooperation in Science & Technology
Union
Cabinet has given its nod for Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between India and Canada for
cooperation in the field of Science and Technology.
The salient features of MoU is R&D Cooperaton, to promote
India-Canada multidisciplinary research partnerships, cooperation on safe and
sustainable infrastructure and integrated water management and more.
4.Matunga
Railway Station enters Limca Book of Records for posting all women staff on the
station.
Matunga Railway Station in Mumbai
has entered in LIMCA Books of Records for posting all staff on the station is
women. This is the first Railway station which posted its entire staff as
women.
5.National
Youth Festival to begin from January 12.
Prime
Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the National Youth Festival on January
12 with the theme ‘Sankalp Se Siddhi’, . The festival aim to provide a platform
to bring youth of the nation together and provide them the opportunity to
showcase their talent.
Festival is commence on the occasion
on birth anniversary of Youth icon of India Swami Vivekananda.This is
the first time National Youth Festival will held in New Delhi. This the 22nd
National Youth Festival and 1st
National Youth Festival held in Bhopal on 1995.
6.Aanchal
Thakur first Indian to win an international
medal in skiing
Aancal Thakur from Himachal Pradesh has
won the Bronze medal in Alpine Ejder
3200 Cup in Turkey which is organised by the International Ski Federation (FIS).
She won the medal in slalom race category and become the first Indian to receive
the medal in International Event.
