1.Malnutrition is high among Children of Tamil Nadu.
As per the National Family Health Survey -4 (NFHS-) data of 2017 release, Severe Accute Malnutrition (SAM) is high among the children of Tamil Nadu aged under 5 which is 8 Per cent. It is higher than the Country’s average.
SAM is defiened as very low weight for height and severe muscle wasting also they may have nutritional oedema characterized by swollen feet, limbs and face.
As per the study , SAM caused mainly due to half of the Pregnant women are anaemic because of Poor Sanitation , open defecation. When the pregnant women and young children exposed to open defecation which worms to result in anaemia and loss of nutrition.
2.India’s first foreign direct investment in fertiliser sector.
Yara International from Norway has acquired Tata Chemicals Ltd’s urea plant at Babrala in Uttar Pradesh. This is the India’s first foreign direct investment in fertiliser sector.
3.India’s First agri-Options is set to launch by National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange Limited (NCDEX)
Union Finance Finance Minister Arun Jaitley to launch India’s First Agri commodity option by National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange Limited (NCDEX) on options trading in Guar seed. This helps to increase the income of farmers in coming days.
4.Magh Bihu Festival in Assam.
MAgh Bihu Festival celebrated in Kamrup rural District of Assam , which marks end of the harvest season in that region.
