Economic Forum Summit, Davos 2018.

Economic Forum Summit has kick started at Davos, Switzerland with the theme of
'Creating a Shared Future in a Fractured World”.
World
Economic Forum formed in 1971 with the theme committed to improving the state
of the world, headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland.
2.ASEAN India
Business and Investment and Expo, 2018.
ASEAN India India
Business and Investment Meet and Expo inaugurated with the theme of Promoting Mutual Trade and Investment for
Shared Prosperity’ between India and ASEAN Countries.
It was inaugurated by Minister of
Commerce Mr Suresh Prabhu.
3.India in 62nd
Rank on WEF’s Inclusive Development Index 2018.
- World Ecomomic Forum has ranked India in 62nd Rank out of 74 emerging countries in Inclusive Development Index.
- Lithuania tops the chart in emerging economies
- Norway tops the chart in advanced economies.
- While Pakistan ranked 47th and China in 26th position which is better than India.
Inclusive development Index:
- It is an annual assessment which measure economic progress of 103 countries on 3 pillars growth and development; inclusion and; intergenerational equity.
- It is an alternative for GDP to Measuring Countries economic performance.
4.Ashok Lavasa took charge as the new Election
Commissioner of India.
Ashok Lavasa
has taken charge as New Election Commissioner of India. Earlier Om Prakash
Rawat has taken charge as
the Chief Election Commissioner of India.
5.Tamil Nadu
to get Biodiversity panels by March 2018.
- Tamil Nadu to get State Biodiversity panel by March 2018 under National Biodiversity Authority Act.
- It will help to look after conserving, developing and effective use of biodiversity sources.
- Only Goa and Kerala has formed the Biodiversity panel among the States.
6.Shah Rukh Khan
wins crystal award
Indian Actor
Shah Rukh Khan Wins Crystal Award along with musician Elton John and Australian
actress Cate Blanchett at
World Economic Forum, Davos, Switzerland.
The award was given for the artist
who shown commitment towards improving the state of the world.
Vandana Gopikumar will receive Penn
Nursing Renfield Foundation Award of 2018 for Global Women’s Health .
She
was chosed for the work in helping women with mental health problems .
