1.Cabinet approves Rs 6,809-crore Zojila Pass tunnel project 

Cabinet approves Rs 6,809 crore for the construction, operation and maintenance of two-lane bi-directional Zojila Tunnel with Parallel Escape (Egress) Tunnel with the aim to all whether connectivity between Srinagar, Kargil and Leh.

Currently this region is occupied by snow and frequent avalanches for around 6 months in a year, which is difficult for transportation. This project will help them to reach the other region of the country throughout the year and also attracts tourist round the year. It enhance the economy of the region.

2.Cabinet approves Rs 5369.18 crore project in National Waterway-1 under Jal Marg Vikas Project. 

Union Cabinet has approved the Rs 5,369.18 crore project for enhancing navigation on the National waterway -1 between Haldia –Varnasi under the project Jal Marg Vikas Project. The project will be implemented with the help of world bank and schedule to complete by March 2023.

3.India Israel signed cooperation in energy sector. 

Union Cabinet approved the signing Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the oil and Gas sector between India and Israel. 

4.Siddha Day Jan-04

Siddha Day is celebrated on January 04 all over the country marking the birth anniversary of the Siddhar called Agaththiyar .

5.4 new balsam species found in Arunachal prdesh.

Scientist have found four new Balsam species in Arunachal Pradesh region. The genus is scientifically known as Impatiens. Currently India has more than 230 Balsam Species.

Impatiens Haridasanii, Impatiens pseudocitrina , Impatiens nilalohitae, Impatiens roingensis are the four new Balsam Species found in regions of Arunachal Pradesh.
