1.500 MW solar power plant to be set up at Ramanathapuram .
The Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (Tangedco) is planning to setup a 500 MW solar power plant at Kadaladi in Ramanathapuram district with the help of Centre.

Tamil Nadu Governor also a Chancellor Banwarilal Purohit has appointed P. Kolandaivel as Vice Chancellor of Periyar and P. Manisankar as Vice-Chancellors Bharathidasan University .
