1.Drypetes Kalamii 

• Drypetes Kalamii, a new species found in Buxa tiger Reserve and Jaldapara National Park of West Bengal.
• The new species is named after former President Abdul Kalam. 

2.TN to setup more solar projects. 

• According to latest report, Tamil Nadu is to setup more number of Solar Projects with the capacity of 2,000 MW in 2018.
• Tamil Nadu has the largest installed solar projects in the country followed by Karnataka and Maharashtra.
• But in 2017 Telangana has installed more Solar projects followed by Andhra Pradesh.     

 3.5G network trial. 

Airtel  and Huawei successfully conduct India’s first 5G trial at Airtel’s Network Experience Centre in Manesar, Gurugram

• Aruna Reddy become the first Indian gymnast to win medal in world cup.
• She won the Bronze medal in Gymnastic World cup held in Melbourne, Australia.
• She finished behind Tjasa Kysslef of Slovenia who won Gold and Emily Whitehead of Australia won Silver. 

7.Amma 2 wheeler scheme

• Prime minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated Amma 2 Wheeler Scheme in Tamil Nadu.
• According to the scheme, One Lakh working women per annum will be provided 50 Percent Subsidy for purchase of two wheelers, subsidy not exceeding Rs. 25,000.
