1.KUSUM scheme
to encourage farmers for solar farming.
Union
Government has announced a Kisan
Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahaabhiyan (KUSUM) scheme to encourage farmers for solar
Farming.
Government announced 1.4 lakh crore fund for this Scheme for 10
years.
About KSUM Scheme:
- This Scheme will provide 1.75 M off grid agricultural solar pumps to farmers.
- The scheme aims to produce upto 28,250MW solar power in 5 years.
- The excess production of solar power will bought by state electricity distribution companies, hence increase the Farmers income.
- It also reduce the consumption of Diesel used in Pumps.
