Tamil Nadu State
Government has announced that it will abandon the State Advisory Price and will
follow Revenue Sharing model for Sugar cane pricing.
This
model is based on the Rangarajan Committee Recommendation.
About
Revenue Sharing Model:
- Revenue Sharing Model is recommended by Rangarajan Committee .
- According to this model, Sugar cane Farmers will get Fair and Remunerative Price (FRP) and share in profits with sugar mills.
- The State Advisory Price(SAP) will not be followed from now.
- Government also announced that it will pay the difference price during transition from the present SAP of ₹2,750 per tonne and the price received under new model.
- For this Government allocated Rs 200 crore for transitional production incentive.
- This model is already implement in Maharashtra and Karnataka.
