1.The
India Based Neutrino Observatory.
- Union environment ministry’s Expert Appraisal Committee (EAC) has given environmental Clearance to set up The India Based Neutrino Observatory in Theni district of Tamil Nadu.
- It will study the atmospheric neutrinos produced by cosmic rays in Atmosphere.
2.Urea Subsidy Scheme.
- Union Government has decided to o continue Urea Subsidy Scheme from 2017 upto 2019-20 at estimated cost of Rs. 1,64,935 crores and for disbursement of fertilizer subsidy.
- This scheme will ensure the timely payment of subsidy to manufacturer results in timely available of Urea to farmers in cheap price.
World

4.Emergency care centre
Mamallapuram to
get Emergency Care Centre as part of Tamil Nadu Health Department’s plan to speed
up its Tamil Nadu Accident and Emergency Care Initiative (TAEI) programme
5.Atulya Misra
State Government has been appointed
IAS Officer Atulya Misra to probe wild fire at
Karungani Hills in Theni District.
He
is the enquiry office has to probe the incident and submit the report within
two months.
