1.Meghalaya Community - Led
Landscapes Management Project (MCLLMP)
- India signed $48 Million loan agreement for Meghalaya Community - Led Landscapes Management Project (MCLLMP) with World Bank.
- The main objective of the agreement is to strengthen community-led landscapes management in selected landscapes in Meghalaya.
2.Gram Swaraj Abhiyan launched.
- Gram Swaraj Abhiyan has been launched on April 14 with the aim to inclusion of people of backward villages of the country to get benefit in government welfare scheme.
- These are the seven scheme covers under Gram Swaraj Abhiyan - Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, Saubhagya, Ujala scheme, Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana and Mission Indradhanush.
3.First regional conference of
eastern states on Water Resources
- The First regionalConference of eastern states on water resources held in Kolkata to address the outstanding water issues of the states.
- The aim of conference is to mitigate intra and intra-basin issues relating to water resources in West Bengal, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Odisha
4.Seed
Bank project in Kancheepuram.
- A Seed Bank project to preserve traditional paddy varieties launched in Kancheepuram.
- The project was initiated by Bioversity International and implemented by the Green Cause Foundation,Tamil Nadu.
5.World
Haemophilia day – April 17
- World Haemophilia Day has been observed worldwide to increase awareness of haemophilia and other inherited bleeding disorder.
- Haemophilia is a genetic disease where the body’s ability to make blood clots disorder.
- The theme of 2018 World Haemophilia Day is ‘Sharing Knowledge Makes Us Stronger’.
6.Monsoon

7.Babur cruise missile.
Pakistan successfully test fired
enhanced version of Babur Cruise Missile which can deliver conventional and
non-conventional weapon with a range of 700 KM.
