$200 million Loan for POSHAN Abhiyaan

• India has signed $200 Million Loan agreement with World Bank for National Nutrition Mission –POSHAN ABhiyaan.
• The aim of the POSHAN Abhiyaan is to address the malnutrition through Convergence, Use of Technology and a Targeted approach

About POSHAN Abhiyaan. 

• POSHAN Abhiyaan was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on International Women’s day (March 8 2018) in Jhunjhunu , Rajasthan, to boost nutrition among children and women.
• It targets to reduce stunting , under nutrition, anaemia.
• It also targets to reduce the low birth weight by 2% per annum.
• It also targets to come down stunting among children in 0-6 years from 38.4 % to 25% by 2022.
