1.Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan 

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan at Mandla, Madhya Pradesh with the aim to strengthen the Panchayat Raj
• RGSA will strengthen the Panchayat Raj across the nation and will address if there is any gap that limits its success.

2.Sagar Kavach: 

• The 2 day Coastal security exercise named Sagar Kavah began in  Kerala.
• It aims to strengthen and assess the loopholes in the coastal security mechanism along coastal areas of Kerala 

3.Malvi’s adder’s-tongue fern: 

• World’s smallest land fern named Malvi’s adders’s tongue fern discovered in Western Ghats.
• It was discovered in Fawa forest of Gujarat’s Dang District. 

4.Madhya Pradesh Rural Connectivity Project 

Union Government has signed $120M loan agreement with World bank to improve rural road connectivity in Madhya Pradesh.

5.On-going power projects in TN 

• The Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (Tangedco) is executing 5 super critical thermal power project which will expected to commissioned by 2019-21.
• The 5 super critical Thermal Power projects are North Chennai TPP with capacity of 800 MW, Ennore SEZ TPP with 1,320 MW, Ennore Expansion TPP with 660 MW, Uppur TPP in Ramanathapuram district with 6000 MW , Udangudi TPP in Thoothukudi district with 1,320 MW Capacity.
• Other power projects are Kadaladi Solar power project in Ramanathapuram district with 500 MW and Kundah Pumped storage hydroelectric project in Nilagiri district with 500 MW capacity .
• These projects are expected to complete before 2021 .
