1.India is 6th
wealthiest country
- India is the 6th wealthiest country in the world according to the AfrAsia Bank Global Wealth Migration Review.
- US tops the list with total wealth of $62,584 billion followed by China with $24,803 Billion, Japan with $19,522 billion, United Kingdom with $9,919 Billion , Germany with $9,660 billion and India in 6th position with $8,230 Billion.
2.Exercise Gandiv

3.BrahMos
supersonic cruise missile
- India Successfully test Fired BrahMos Supersonic cruise Missile with the aim to increase its life from 10 to 15 years.
- It was test fired from mobile launcher from the Integrated Test Range at Chandipur , Odisha.
- This is the first Missile in India to extend its life from 10 to 15 years.
4.Strategic
Petroleum Reserve:
- India receives the First Cargo of UAE Crude oil to Filling up strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) caverns built by Indian Strategic Petroleum Reserve Ltd (ISPRL) at Mangalore.
- It was a part of agreement under which Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) will store 5.86 Million barrels in India under Strategic Petroleum Reserve programme.
- According to agreement India can use entire oil reserve stored in Mangalore SPR during Emergency and also ADNOC can sell part of reserve to India whenever required.
5.Navika Sagar
Parikrama:
- Indian Navy’s six member women team has completed circumnavigating the globe on Navy’s Sailing vessel INSV Tarini in 254 days.
- This is the first ever Indian Circumnavigation of the world by an all women team.
6.International
Biological diversity Day – May 22
- International Biological Diversity Day was observed globally on May 22 to increase understanding and awareness of biodiversity issues.
- The Theme of 2018 is “Celebrating 25 Years of Action for Biodiversity”
7.Queqiao satellite:
- China launches relay satellite named Queqiao Satellite to probe the Moons Far side also known as dark side.
- China will become the first country to send satellite to probe the Dark side of the moon.
