1.Pulikulam, Kangeyam and the Burghur is in TANUVAS preserve list 

• Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (TANUVAS )has taken steps to preserve three indigenous cattle of Tamil Nadu namely Pulikulam, Kangeyam and Gurghur.
• For this Tamil Nadu government has allocated Rs 5 crore to set up research centres in Manamadurai in Sivaganga district,  Pahuthampalayam and Andhiyur ,Burgur in  Erode district

2.Nari Shakti Puraskar 2017 

• Nari Shakti Puraskar 2017 given to the 6 member women team who circumnavigated the world in Indian Navy Sailing Vessel (INSV) Tarini .
• The 6 member team comprising of Lt Commander Vartika Joshi, Lt Aishwarya Bodapatti, Lt SH Vijaya Devi Lt Commander Pratibha Jamwal, Lt Commander Swathi Patarpalli , and Lt Payal Gupta. 

3.Surya Kiran-XIII: 

India-Nepal joint military exercise named Surya Kiran – XIII to be held in Pithoragarh District of Uttarakhand from May 30 to June 12.

4.Samagra Shiksha Scheme 

• Union Government has launched the Samagra Schiksha Scheme for School education with the aim to improve the quality of education, better learning outcomes and using technology to empower children and teachers.
• It is a programme which unifies learning from Pre-school to 12 standard.
• It will subsume Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, Rashtriya Madhyamk Shiksha Abhiyan and teacher education Programmes. 

5.2018 RIMPAC maritime exercise. 

United States withdraws invitation to China from Participating World’s largest International Maritime Exercise RIMPAC (Rim of the Pacific )2018.
