1.Upgraded Pinaka rocket 
  • India has successfully test fired upgraded version of Pinaka Rocket with enhanced range and guidance system from the proof & Experiment Establishment(PXE) at Chandipur, Odisha.
  • Earlier Pinaka Rocket was not a guided one, now it is upgraded with guided version with a navigation, guidance and control kit.

2.Malabar Exercise 2018 
2018 Malabar Exercise to be held off coast of Guam in Phillipine sea from June 6 to 15.
Naval Ships, Aircraft from India, Japan and US will participate in the exercise.


3.RIMPAC 2018: 
  • Along with 26 countries , India to participate in biennial Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) military exercise 2018 from June 27 to August 2, to be held in US.
  • This Exercise is known as World’s largest international maritime exercise.
  • This year US has disinvited China from participating RIMPAC.
  • The Theme of this year Exercise is "Capable, Adaptive, Partners.".
  • Brazil, Israel, Sri Lanka and Vietnam are going to participate first time in RIMPAC 

4.Next Generation SFDR Air to Air Missile 
  • India has successfully developed its new surface-to-air missile powered by Solid fuel Ducted Ramjet (SFDR) technology jointly with Russia.
  • This technology will help both surface-to-air and air-to-air missiles to perform better and enhance their striking range.

5.Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana: 
  • Indian Government has signed $500 million loan agreement with World Bank for providing additional fund for Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana.
  • Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana is a flagship programme of Central Government to construct Climate resilient roads in Rural areas. 

6.Kerala’s Marine Amulances. 
Kerala Government has signed agreement with Cochin Shipyard Ltd for construction of three marine ambulances for its fisheries department.
