MoU b/w India,Belarus for Cooperation in the field of Vocational Education and Training

Union Cabinet has given its ex-post facto approval for Memorandum of understanding between India, Belarus for Cooperation in the field of vocational Education and training. This is the first time India is signing MoU in the field of vocational Education and training and skill development with Eurasian Country.

Significance of Vocational Education and Training:

• It aims to enhance the skill of students while learning ,it provides real life skills during their education to get better employment.
• The companies are now aiming to recruit only skill based employees or specialist based on the changing need of work in this competitive world.
• Countries like Germany, Singapore, Switzerland are top in providing vocational education and if we check the employment opportunity, it is high comparing to India.
• In India employment opportunity is only 30 % but if you check Switzerland, Germany, Singapore it is more than 90%.
• It means India is lagging behind these countries for providing employment opportunities.
• Currently India is very much keen on increasing the employment opportunities by introducing many initiatives like National Skill Development Mission 2015 and its various sub missions which aims to provide 400 Million job opportunities by 2022.
• Government of India allocated Rs 17,000 crore to help to increase the employment Generation, skill development and more.
